Lee R. Smoker, 86 of Lancaster passed away peacefully on Thursday, January 24, 2013, at home surrounded by loved ones. Born in Atglen, PA, he was the son of the late Samuel and Salome Smoker. He was the beloved husband of Arlene J. (Walker) Smoker. They were married on August 28, 1948 and enjoyed 64 years of marriage.
He was a self-employed painting contractor. He was a past president of the Conestoga Sertoma Club and was actively involved for over 30 years. He loved to go to his cabin where he enjoyed fishing, hunting and fun times with family & friends.
He is survived by two daughters, Beverly, wife of Ronald Brubaker and Bonnie, wife of Fred Anderson; grandchildren, Vicki Martin, Kelsey Austin and Brandon Austin; step-granddaughters, Vanessa Tate and Tara Fraleigh; great-grandchildren, Kayla Martin, Kyle Martin and step-grandchildren, Veda Tate and Teddy Fraleigh.
He is survived by the following sisters and brothers: Miriam Brendle of Strasburg, Lena Hollinger, of New Holland; Amanda Beiler of Lancaster, Reba, wife of Paul Hershey of New Holland, Daniel of Atglen and Nevin, husband of Patricia of Parkesburg.
Mr. Smoker was predeceased by sisters, Elsie Wingard and Marie Yoder, and brothers, Norman Lloyd and Marcus Smoker.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend a funeral in Willow Street Mennonite Church, 399 E. Penn Grant Rd., Willow Street, PA on Saturday, February 2, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Joe Hyatt officiating. Family will greet friends on Saturday at the church from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. Interment in Willow Street Mennonite Cemetery.
