Lenora Catherine Faber (Madison) passed away peacefully on March 29, 2024, at her home in Willow Valley Communities in Willow Street, PA. Lenora was born in Brooklyn, NY and lived a wonderful life of 90 years. She was the daughter of the late William and Charlotte Madison, and a loving and dedicated wife to the late Martin John Faber, Jr., with whom she celebrated 53 years of marriage.
Lenora and Martin have two children, Michael John Faber of Lancaster, PA, and Kathleen Ann Heliger (Faber-Hartnett) of Reading, PA. Lenora was preceded in death by her sister Alice Woerner. Lenora was loved dearly by her Son-in-Law Perry Heliger, her four grandchildren Danielle Deissler (Zachary), Lauren Turner (Andrew), JJ Heliger (Amanda), Andy Heliger, and her two great-grandchildren Brooklyn and Jordyn Turner. She had many nieces, nephews, and a wide circle who thought of her as mom and grandmom because of her expansive, inclusive love.
Lenora graduated from St. Joseph’s High School in Brooklyn, NY. She went on to stewardess school and spent close to three years traveling the country as an American Airlines stewardess. Those who knew Lenora were entertained greatly by her many stories of flying!
Lenora spent most of her adult life on Long Island and on the beaches of South Jamesport, NY. She was a Deaconess at Mattituck Presbyterian Church, a Hospice Volunteer, a master gardener, and a talented artist. Lenora and Martin moved to Willow Valley Communities in 2011, where Lenora became a Deaconess at Grace Community Church in Willow Street, PA. Lenora had a great love for Jesus, and shared His love with everyone she knew. Her life was dedicated to God, and this was evidenced through the love and generosity she poured out to others. Everyone loved Lenora – she was one of a kind!
Lenora’s Celebration of Life service will be held on Saturday, April 20, 2024, 2:00pm, at Willow Valley Communities Lakes Auditorium, 300 Willow Valley Lakes Drive, Willow Street, PA. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Grace Community Church of Willow Street, PA.
