Lenora Pinto Seacat, 91, formerly of Hostetter Lane, Lancaster, died Monday, December 5, 2011 at Moravian Manor, her home for the past 8 months.
Born Feb. 3, 1920 in Osceola Mills, PA she was the daughter of the late Joseph, Sr. and Vera Olive Phillips Pinto. While working as a secretary in Harrisburg she met WWII soldier Wayne Seacat, former chief engineer at WGAL-TV. They wed on Nov. 18, 1945. She spent many years as a homemaker and then worked for Izod, Rockvale Square.
She was a charter member of the Community United Methodist Church, Lancaster, and a longtime member of the United Methodist Women’s Group.
Her creative bent manifest itself in her painting, sewing, gardening, and crafts. She will be remembered for her sweet nature and will be sorely missed by her family and friends.
Surviving is a daughter, Cheryl wife of Frank Stearn of Chambersburg; a son, Alan Wayne, husband of Jane Seacat of Lebanon; eight grandchildren, Suzanne wife of Adam Bediz of Essex, MA, Christine Stearn wife of Joshua Ingber of New York City, Jordan husband of Bethany Seacat of Lititz, Joshua Seacat partner of Sara Milhollen of Lancaster, Nathaniel Seacat of Philadelphia, Jacob Burch of Lebanon, Daniel Burch of Afton, and Gabrielle Burch of Lebanon; four great grandchildren, John Adam (Jack) and Margaret Bediz of Essex, MA, Ariana Burch of Lebanon , and Zoey Seacat of Lancaster; and sisters, Ella Mae Hughes of El Dorado, AR and Irene Harrington of Phillipsburg. Her husband, Wayne Seacat, and brother, Joseph Pinto, Jr., Allentown preceded her in death.
A Funeral Service will be held on Monday, December 12, 2011 at 10:30 A.M. at the Community United Methodist Church, 130 Tennyson Drive, Lancaster, PA with the Rev. Carolene Brubaker officiating. The viewing precedes the service, Monday from 9:30 A.M. until the time of the service. Interment in the Mellinger Mennonite Cemetery.
