Leon “Lee” M. Eby, Jr, 55, of Lancaster, PA died at home on Tuesday, February 23, 2010.
He was married 15 years to Carole A. Hart Eby. Born April 20, 1954 in Monroe, MI, he was the son of Rosemary Mullen Eby of Monroe, MI and the late Leon M. Eby, Sr.
Leon was employed as the manager of the Cracker Barrel in Lancaster, and had previously been the manager of the former Ponderosa Steak House in Lancaster. He was a graduate of Michigan State University. Leon was a member of the Loyal Order of the Moose #97 and the Fraternal Order of Eagles both in Clearfield, PA. His interests included cooking, shooting pool, playing cards gardening and following Michigan and Michigan State sports.
Surviving besides his wife and mother is a daughter, Nicole Eby of Harrisburg; a stepdaughter, Meghan wife of Michael Crome of Reading; four grandchildren, Carlee Mikelonis, Kaiden Crome, Brandon Crome and David Crome; a brother, Gary husband of Cherie Eby of Maybee, MI; and three sisters, Linda wife of Tony Diaz, Theresa wife of David Kidder and Barbara Eby Mainzinger all of Monroe, MI.
A Visitation will be held on Thursday evening (Tonight), February 25, 2010 from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. at the Kearney A. Snyder Funeral Home, 141 E. Orange St., Lancaster, PA. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Mr. Eby’s memory may be made to the Abramson Cancer Center of the University of Pennsylvania, Attn: Bone Marrow Transplant Program, 3535 Market Street, Suite 750, Philadelphia, PA 19104-3309.
