Lillian Ethel Cavna Hankle, 84, of Lancaster went to be with the Lord on Thursday November 3rd, 2011 at ManorCare Health Care Services of Lancaster. Born in Lancaster, she was the daughter of the late John Adam and Ada Sharley Cavna.
Lillian graduated from J.P. McCaskey High School and was then employed by the school district of Lancaster as a secretary. She was a member of Grace Baptist Church in Lancaster and enjoyed playing cards as well as arts and crafts.
She was an active member of the School District of Lancaster Retirees, Lancaster County PA Association School of Retirees, Silver Threads, Arthritis Foundation, and HUGS (Help Us Grow Single Again). She also volunteered for Home Missionary in Winona Lake, Indiana for 4 years and COBYS Family Services in Leola, PA for 7 years.
She is survived by her 5 children; William husband of Julie Hankle of Lititz, Harry Hankle of East Petersburg, Kathleen wife of Hal Weglarz of Lancaster, Donald Hankle of Kingston, TN, and James husband of Cindy Hankle; a brother Arthur Cavna of California, 8 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend a funeral service at Kearney A. Snyder Funeral Home, 141 E. Orange St., Lancaster, PA on Monday, November 7th at 11:00 A.M. Friends may call at the funeral home on Monday from 10:00 A.M. until the time of service. Interment at Riverview Burial Park. In lieu of flowers, contributions in her memory may be sent to Ascera Care Hospice, 315 Primrose Lane, Mountville, PA 17554.
