Linda M. Johnson

d. January 10, 2023

Linda M. Johnson, 51, of Lancaster, has passed away unexpectedly on January 10, 2023. She is survived by her mother, Corinne Dunkelberger, her two siblings, Nicole and Tony Dunkelberger, her three children, Kirstyn Johnson, April and Cody Riker. She is also survived by her nephews Channing and Liam, and her granddaughter Lily Shultz.

For the last 10 years, she worked in the hospitality business at a hotel, where she was a dedicated employee. Previously she has worked as a waitress at a few local Lancaster restaurants/bars, where she was adored by her customers. She was a very social person, so she really enjoyed spending time with her coworkers and customers.

Linda was a genuine lover of nature and the outdoors. She was an exceptional fisher, and was proud to teach her nephews and granddaughter her tips and tricks. She was also a dedicated cook, often receiving calls from her children prying for her recipes. She was especially known for her mashed garlic red potatoes and her mouth-watering Shepard’s Pie. Many of her secret recipes will also lay to rest with her.

Linda was especially known for her prosperous summer gardens, especially when it came to fruit and vegetables. Her gardens were always very well kept, and she was diligent about waking up at the break of dawn to begin tending to her plants. Many summer nights, she could be found with her granddaughter Lily, pulling weeds and cleaning up before the sun went down for the night. She has passed her green thumb down to Lily as well.

She had a passion for music that was very apparent, often getting caught with her headphones on singing and dancing, thinking she was in the presence of hers alone. She adored all genres, varying from Luke Bryan all the way to Bruno Mars! She did not discriminate. She also loved to attend concerts, and was known for many great nights with her friends in her younger days, attending the concerts of her favorite bands. She was known for her wild soul and fiery personality.

Towards the end of Linda’s life, she unexpectedly became ill. Her physical battle was extremely hard for her, but she fought for as long as she could. She tried to keep busy, and worked until her passing. Linda will be greatly missed by her family and friends, but we will remember the good times and hold them dear to our hearts.

There will be a Celebration of Life gathering at 12:00 PM (doors will open at 11:00 AM) on February 25th at Wisdom’s Table at St. Peter’s of Christ, at 816 Buchanan Avenue at the corner of College Avenue. All are welcome to attend. There will be a luncheon prepared in the fellowship hall following the service. Pastor Dante Jones is the officiant. Please refrain from wearing strong perfumes, aftershave and colognes due to many family members having allergies. The family thanks you in advance.
