Linda L. Steinmetz

Linda L. Steinmetz, 66, of Lancaster, passed away unexpectedly on August 18, 2016 at her home.  She was the loving wife of the late Lloyd H. Steinmetz, Sr. Born in York, PA, she was the daughter of the late John Wisotzkey and Phyllis Nelson and also raised by the late Frank Polaskey.

After attending school at Lancaster Catholic High School she spent much of her working career as a Manager, working for companies such as Goodwill Industries, Pensupreme, and she spent the last 26 years as a longtime employee of Turkey Hill Minit Markets. She loved the people that she worked with over the years and spoke often of the relationships and love that she had for her customers and co-workers.

She was a member of First Baptist Church of Lancaster, PA for past 37 years.  In her spare time, she enjoyed her card ministry at church, listening to WJTL radio, and spending time with her grandchildren.  She was a loving, caring, and compassionate friend to all whom she came in contact with.

She is survived by her son, Lloyd H. Steinmetz, Jr., husband of Geanna (Wilkinson) Steinmetz, 2 stepchildren, David Steinmetz and Joy Stark and preceded in death by a stepdaughter, Linda Erdman.  She is also survived by a sister, Barbara Church, wife of the late George Church, a brother, Charles Michael Polaskey, and several grand children.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend a Celebration or Life Service at First Baptist Church, 612 N. Duke St., Lancaster, PA 17602, on Saturday, August 27, 2016 at 11:00 AM with the Reverend Richard Cook officiating.  Friends may greet the family from 9:30 AM until the time of the service.  There will be a luncheon after the service provided by First Baptist Church.  Interment will be in Millersville Mennonite Cemetery at the convenience of the family.  Flowers are welcomed, or contributions in Linda’s memory may be made to First Baptist Church of Lancaster.
