Linda M. Harnish, 68 of Willow Street, PA., passed away on March 20, 2016 at Hospice & Community Care in Mt. Joy, PA. She was the wife of Robert C. Harnish, they would have celebrated their 50
th
anniversary on April 6

Born in Lancaster, she was the daughter of the late Robert L. Wakefield, Sr. and Helen E. (Bloom) Wakefield. Linda graduated from J.P. McCaskey High School in 1965, then worked in the offices at Hamilton Watch Co. and KD Tools. She then followed her dream of becoming a nurse and retired from Lancaster General Hospital in 2011.
Linda loved traveling, camping, boating, gardening, reading and cooking, but most of all she loved to spend time with family and friends. Linda was involved with the American Cancer Society Relay for Life for many years and also served on the Lancaster Chapter Relay Committee. In the mid 1990’s she was an avid scuba diver and served as president of Lancaster Sport Divers Club in 1996.
She is survived by her sisters, Joanne Kirchgessner and Jackie Carr, her brother, Robert L. Wakefield Jr., many nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews and great-great nieces and nephews. Also surviving are sister in laws and brother in laws. Linda will be lovingly missed by her family and friends. She was predeceased by a sister in law, brother in law, great niece and great nephew.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend a memorial service at the DeBord Snyder Funeral Home & Crematory, 141 E. Orange St. Lancaster PA. 17602 on Saturday April 9, 2016 at 4 p.m. with the Rev. Guy Carrigan officiating. The family will receive visitors at 3 p.m. until the time of the service. Inurnment will be held Monday April 11, 2016 at 10 a.m. at Conestoga Memorial Park.
