Linn B. Mccune

Linn Brian McCune of Lancaster, PA died suddenly at home on Thursday, February 6, 2014 at the age of 74.  Born in Lancaster, he was the son of the late Charles Kenneth  and Anne (Cauler) McCune.

Linn was the husband of Georgia (Longenecker) McCune with whom he shared 54 years of marriage.  In addition to his wife, he is survived by one son Brian Kenneth McCune of Lancaster. He was the son-in-law of the late George and Martha Longenecker; brother-in-law of the late Chuck Towne.  He will be lovingly missed by sisters-in-law Toni Tice (Brian Langsett), Marti Bender (Scott) and Donna Smoker.

Linn graduated from J.P. McCaskey High School class of 1957 and attended Norwich University, Northfield, Vermont.  He served three years in the United States Marine Corps. Linn retired from Kerr Glass and the Manheim Auto Auction.  Linn was a 32 degree Mason, Lodge No. 43 F. & A.M. He was a 54 year member and leader of First Reformed United Church of Christ, a steward of its people and property, a manager for construction projects and a caretaker of its sacramental and worship life.

He was an avid NASCAR fan and loved the Daytona 500. He enjoyed working, helping with his McCaskey reunions, any activity involving cars and driving, reading and watching TV.

Linn was a quiet, patient person, a good listener and respected by everyone. He always had a wonderful smile with a hidden bantering wit.  Linn was extremely devoted to his family and a friend to many.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend a memorial service at First Reformed U.C.C., 40 E. Orange St., Lancaster, PA 17602 on Saturday, February 15th at 11:00 a.m. with the Reverend William P. Worley officiating.  Interment will be private at the convenience of the family.  The family will greet friends immediately following the Memorial Service in Harbaugh Hall.
