Lorraine F. Rice
Lorraine F. Rice, 84, of Lancaster, a former longtime resident of Conestoga, died Monday, November 4, 2013 at Lancaster General Hospital.
She was the wife of the late Charles W. Rice who died in 1987. Born in Lancaster, she was the daughter of the late Fred and Catherine Shissler Mauer.
Lorraine was a homemaker and enjoyed bingo, playing cards and spending time with family and friends.
Surviving is a son, Jeffrey C. husband of JoElla L. Rice of Lancaster; a grandson, Terry L. Sheetz, Jr. of Lancaster; and two nephews, Dennis Rice and James Maurer. She was preceded in death by a brother Fred Mauer, Jr.
A Funeral Service will be held on Friday, November 8, 2013 at 2:00 P.M. at the Kearney A. Snyder Funeral Home, 141 E. Orange St. Lancaster, with the Rev. Jack Hilton officiating. Friends may call at the funeral home on Friday from 1:00 P.M. until the time of the service. Interment in the River Corner Mennonite Cemetery, Conestoga, PA. In lieu of flowers, contributions in her memory may be made to the Susquehanna Association for the Blind and Vision Impaired, 244 N. Queen St., Lancaster, PA 17603.
