Louise V. Edgar
Louise V. Edgar, 90, Lancaster, PA, went to be with the Lord peacefully in her sleep on November 14, 2012. Born in Gap, PA, she was the daughter of the late Russel G. Shaffer and Viola (Ritenour) Shaffer. She was one of five children. She was preceded in death by her husband, George (Barney) Edgar.
She was a member of Redeemer Lutheran Church, worked for Hamilton Watch during the war years, and later for Schick Inc. Louise will always be remembered as a loving and caring wife and mother, a loyal friend, a good neighbor, and an incredible grandmother.
She is survived by her loving son, Randall J. Edgar, Sr. of The Villages, FL, daughter Karen Pikett of Houston, TX, a brother, James Shaffer of Gap, PA, two grandchildren: Randall J. Edgar, Jr. of Columbia, PA, and Melissa L. (Edgar) Vinsky of Alburtis, PA, and four great-grandchildren: Lauren and Leah Edgar, and Noah and Olivia Vinsky, whom she dearly loved and delighted in beyond measure. The family would like to extend a special thank you to her loving neighbors, Bob & Kim Groff, for their faith, love, and care for Louise.
Family and friends are invited to attend a celebration honoring Louise’s life on Monday, November 19th at 6:30 P.M. at Kearney A. Snyder Funeral Home at 141 E. Orange Street Lancaster, PA 17602. Family and friends may greet at the funeral home on Monday at 5:00 P.M. until the time of service.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the American Cancer Society 314 Good Drive Lancaster, PA 17603 or Hospice & Community Care, 685 Good Dr., P.O. Box 4125, Lancaster, PA 17604-4125.
