Lucille H. Wertz

Lucille H. Wertz, 68, of Mountville, died Wednesday, November 12, 2014 at Lancaster General Hospital.

She was married 21 years to Dennis C. Wertz.  Born in DuBois, PA she was the daughter of the late William B. and Elizabeth Hudson Hofmann.

Lucille was very much a Lancastrian.  She had a successful career in sales.  Lucille was an accomplished watercolor artist and enjoyed dancing and recreational activities.  She was a member of the Lancaster Liederkranz.  Over the years, Lucille was known as one who had a very personal touch in her care for the elderly.   One of her greatest enjoyments in life was spending time with and caring for her grandchildren.

Surviving besides her husband are two sons, Charles David Binkley married to Robin Sweitzer Binkley and Matthew Warren Binkley married to Laura Reynolds Binkley; four grandchildren, Drew David Binkley, Molly Elizabeth Binkley, Karen Lucille Binkley, and Jenna Rose Binkley; a sister, Patricia Hofmann Meiser; a brother, Bruce William Hofmann married to Cathy Slater Hofmann; a brother in law, Michael T. married to Joyce Wertz; a sister in law, Sandra married to Barry Barclay; and 13 nieces and nephews.

A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, November 15, 2014 at 2:00 PM at the Kearney A. Snyder Funeral Home, 141 E. Orange St., Lancaster, PA.  Friends may call at the funeral home on Saturday from 1:00 P.M. until the time of the service.  In lieu of flowers, contributions in her memory may be made to the Lancaster Heart and Stroke Foundation, 131 E. Frederick St., Lancaster, PA  17602.
