Lydia M. Weaver, 102, of Lancaster passed away on Friday, December 7, 2012 at home with her family by her side. She was the wife of the late Earl L. Weaver. She was born in West Sadsbury, PA, the daughter of the late Robert H. Lesher & Myrtle Elizabeth (Radcliff) Lesher.
She was a floor supervisor at the former Stehli Silk Mill for 20 years up to 1945 and later worked at the Antes Pet Store in Lancaster. She was a member of the First Church of God in Lancaster.
She enjoyed traveling, household projects, spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren, working in her yard and telling stories about the enormous changes she witnessed over more than a century.
She is survived by her daughters, Patricia A. Weaver, wife of Valentino Moscatelli, Rome Italy; Kay E. Gehman, Lancaster, PA; two grandchildren, Michelle E. VonNieda-LaGrassa wife of Robert A. LaGrassa and Jennifer K Gehman companion of Dan Loncosky, both of Lancaster; two great grandchildren, Alexander “Alex” VonNieda and Danielle “Dani” VonNieda, Lancaster; sisters-in-law, Dorothy “Dottie” Lesher and Josephine “Tiny” Weaver and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her son-in-law, Walter R. Gehman and her nine siblings Henry Lesher, Pauline Tshudy, Dorothy Heistand, Lester Lesher, Elmer Lesher, Ruth Lesher, Ella Siver, Betty Stoltzfus and Jane “Janie” Lesher.
She will be deeply missed by her family and her two cats, Romeo & Wally. A special thank you to her caregiver, Milagros “Milly” Vasquez for taking such good care of her, we were truly blessed to have found someone who loved her as much as we did.
A memorial service will be held at the First Church of God, 344 W. Chestnut St., Lancaster on Friday, December 14th at 11:00 am; the family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Interment in Conestoga Memorial Park. Flowers will be accepted and or donations in her memory to the Humane League of Lancaster County, 2195 Lin¬coln High¬way East, Lan¬caster, PA 17602.
