Margaret Rose Handley

Margaret Rose Handley, 71, of Lancaster, PA, passed away on Thursday, the 19th of December, 2024 at Hickory House Nursing Home in Honey Brook, PA. She was the loving mother of three children, Christopher, Sarah, and Zachary and the loving sister to five brothers and sisters, Kevin, Mary, Terri, Hugh, and Charlotte.  

She was born in Fakenham, County of Norfolk, United Kingdom to parents, Donald John Handley and Esther Anita Johanson.  

She graduated Wayne High School in Huber Heights, Ohio in the class of 1971 and Miami University in Oxford, Ohio in the class of 1975 with a degree in Mathematics. She worked most of her adult life as a Systems Analyst/Software Engineer for various large corporations.  

Her hobbies included traveling the United States to go camping and to enjoy time at the beach, swimming and riding bikes, reading, sewing, watching sports and movies, and spending time with her friends and family.  

She is survived by three children, Christopher, Sarah, and Zachary Carson. She is also survived by five siblings Kevin Handley, Mary Harris, Terri Secor, Hugh Handley, and Charlotte Handley.  

She will be remembered as a loving mother and sister, and as a woman with a fighting spirit, uplifting laugh, contagious smile, and a heart of gold.  

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend a Memorial Service at DeBord Snyder Funeral Home & Crematory at 141 E Orange Street, Lancaster, PA 17602 on January 11th, 2025 at 11am ET. Friends may greet the family starting at 10am ET until the time of the service at 11am ET.
