Marion S. Walton, 96, of 400 St. Luke Dr., Lititz, PA died Monday, January 11th, at Lancaster General Hospital. She was the widow of Earl R. Walton who died September, 1975. Born in Lancaster, PA, she was the daughter of the late Dr. Gardner A. and Lillian Denlinger Sayres. She was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Lancaster.
Mrs. Walton was a doll collector for many years, and in 2008 she received the Commanders Award from the United States Marine Corps Reserve for contributing her dolls to the Toys for Tots program.
She is survived by two sons, Richard S., husband of Jan Walton of Tempe, AZ and Robert G., husband of Joan Walton of Lancaster, PA; seven grandchildren, W. Mark Walton and Matthew R. Walton, both of Lancaster, Annelisa Walton-Aubry of Mt. Joy, Kristi Tolman of Elmhurst, IL, Kelli Bethel of Mesa, AZ, Kelly Brown of Highlands Ranch, CO and Stephanie Akimoff of Yelm, WA; 21 great-grandchildren, and 3 great-great grandchildren. She was predeceased by a sister, Betty Lou Helm.
A funeral service will be held at the Chapel of the Good Samaritan of Luther Acres, 600 E. Main St., Lititz, PA on Friday, January 15th, at 10:30 a.m. Interment will be in Millersville Mennonite Cemetery. Friends may call at the Chapel of the Good Samaritan of Luther Acres from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service.
