Marjorie E. Doran, 91, a resident of Homestead Village, died Tuesday, April 28, 2015 at Lancaster General Hospital.
She was the wife of the late Richard F. Doran who died in 1987. Born in Lancaster, she was the daughter of the late Herman and Mary Hooven Stehman.
Marjorie was a homemaker who earlier in life had been employed in the Library at Lancaster Township Junior High School. She was a member of the Church of the Apostles U.C.C. where she had been active with the Food Bank and had taken care of the Bulletin for many years.
She enjoyed walking, swimming, visiting Stone Harbor, NJ, and spending time with friends and family. She had been a huge Duke Basketball fan for many years.
Surviving is a son, Thomas D. husband of Cynthia Doran of Lancaster; a daughter-in-law, Barbara Doran of York; two grandsons, Dr. Mark husband of Beckie Doran of Greer, SC and children Jack, Abigail and Delaney; Matthew husband of Jennifer of York and children Patrick and Natalie. She was preceded in death by a son Patrick R. Doran and by a brother Douglas Stehman.
A Memorial Service will be held on Monday, May 4, 2015 at 11:00 A.M. at the Church of the Apostles U.C.C., 1850 Marietta Ave., Lancaster, PA with the Rev. Kathryn Kuhn officiating. The family will greet friends following the service. Interment will be private and held at the convenience of the family in the Millersville Mennonite Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions in her memory may be made to the Church of the Apostles U.C.C., 1850 Marietta Ave., Lancaster, PA 17603.
