Mark S. Smoker, 65, of Millersville passed away on Sunday February 2, 2025, at Lancaster General Hospital, following a brief illness. Mark was born March 6, 1959, in Lancaster, PA to the late Richard and Dorothy (Young) Smoker.
Mark was a 1977 graduate of Penn Manor High School, and also graduated in 1987 from Millersville University. He retired after more than 30 years as a district manager in the circulation department of LNP.
Mark enjoyed bowling, golf, vacationing at Ocean City, MD, and was a fan of the Philadelphia Phillies and the Dallas Cowboys. He was also a Lancaster Stormers season ticket holder since the first season. He was a member of First Presbyterian Church, Lancaster, where he volunteered to run the soundboard every Sunday.
After retiring, he volunteered at the Food Pantry at Crispus Attucks and served dinners at First ReformedChurch to people in need
Mark is survived by two sisters, Dr. Cynthia B. Smoker-Johnston (Stuart Johnston), Reading, and Alison G. Smoker, Millersville, along with niece Laura Johnston (fiancé Nate DeFayette), Binghamton, NY, and nephew Charles H. Johnston IV (Alyssa Munter), Ardmore. He is also survived by many cousins and friends, and his beloved dog, Sophie, and cat, Charlotte.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a memorial service at First Presbyterian Church, 140 E. Orange St, Lancaster, PA 17602 on Saturday, February 22, 2025 at 11:00 AM. A visitation will be held at the church from 10:30 AM until the time of the service.
