Martin J. Faber, Jr., 83, of Willow Street, PA, formerly of Long Island, NY, passed away Monday, August 6, 2012 at Lancaster General Hospital, Lancaster, PA. Born in Jersey City, NJ, he was the son of the late Martin John Faber, Sr., and Wanda Telkowski Faber. He was married to Lenora Madison Faber.
Martin served in the U. S. Air Force during the Korea Conflict. An electrical engineer, Martin served as Vice President of International Marketing for several companies in New York including Hazeltine Corporation in Greenlawn, Harris Corporation in Syosset, and Cardion Electronics in Woodbury.
He had been active in several churches including, Northport Baptist Church in Northport, Calvary Baptist Church in Port Jefferson, Mattituck Presbyterian Church in Mattituck, The Tabernacle in Sarasota, FL, and Grace Community Church in Willow Street, PA. He was an avid NY Giants fan.
In addition to his wife, Lenora, Martin is survived by a daughter, Kathie Hartnett of Chester, NJ; a son, Michael Faber of Shirley, NY; his adoptive grandchildren, McKenzie and Hannah Murphy; a brother, Gene Faber of Mahopac, NY. He was preceded in death by a sister, Dolores MacCarthy, and a brother, Donald Faber.
A memorial service will be held from the Willow Valley Lakes Auditorium 300 Willow Valley Lakes Dr. Willow Street, PA on Tuesday, Aug. 28, 2012 at 7:00 PM. The family will greet friends immediately following the service.
A memorial service will also be held from the Mattituck Presbyterian Church 12605 New York State Route 25, Mattituck, NY on Saturday, Sept. 8, 2012 at 11:00 AM. The family will greet friends immediately following the service. Per his wishes, Martin’s remains were donated to the Humanity Gifts Registry through the Penn State Hershey Medical Center.
