Mary E. Steffy, 85, a resident of Audubon Villa in Lititz, formerly of Paradise, died Monday, January 25, 2010 at Hospice of Lancaster County.
She was married 61 years to the late David L. “Chew Tobacco” Steffy who died in 2006. Born in Lancaster, she was the daughter of the late Harry A. and Theresa Ream Frankhouser.
Mrs. Steffy worked as a Nurses Aide at Lancaster General Hospital for 30 years. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Lancaster. Mary graduated from J.P. McCaskey High School in 1943 and enjoyed bowling, NASCAR, Lawrence Welk and cats.
Surviving is a daughter, Florence M. wife of Marvin L. Cummings of Paradise; six grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren; and a sister, Florence Musketnuss of Lancaster. She was preceded in death by sisters, Evelyn Anderson and Betty Jane Miller, and by brothers, William, Harry, Jr. and John Frankhouser.
A Funeral Service will be held on Friday, January 29, 2010 at 7:30 P.M. at the Kearney A. Snyder Funeral Home, 141 E. Orange St., Lancaster, PA. Friends may call at the funeral home on Friday evening from 6:30 P.M. until the time of the service. Interment in Conestoga Memorial Park.
