Mary Elizabeth “Betty” Weber

Mary Elizabeth “Betty” Weber, 90, of Lancaster, went home to be with her Lord on Sunday, May 12, 2013 surrounded by her loving family.

She was the wife of the late Donald L. Weber who died in 2008 with whom she celebrated 65 years of marriage.  Born in Newry, Blair County, PA, she was the daughter of the late Ira and Grace Lykens Keagy.

Betty graduated from Altoona High School in 1941 and from Zeth Business School shortly thereafter.

Early in life her working career included the Blair County Assistance Office, an Army Base, a U.S. Employment office, and Penn State University.  Following her marriage to Donald, she became a full-time wife and mother and together they raised three daughters.

Betty lovingly served her Lord in various capacities at both Grace Lutheran Church and most recently, Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd, both in Lancaster.

Surviving are three daughters, Jane wife of Don DeLancey of Dallastown, Nancy wife of Tim Crouser of Lancaster, and Mary Ann wife of Brandon Rife of Lancaster; nine grandchildren, and seven great grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by a brother Jay Keagy.

A Funeral Service will be held on Friday, May 17, 2013 at 11:00 A.M. at the Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd, 750 Greenfield Road, Lancaster, PA with the Rev. Mark L. Russell officiating.  Friends may call at the Kearney A. Snyder Funeral Home, 141 E. Orange St., Lancaster, on Thursday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. and at the church on Friday from 10:00 A.M. until the time of the service.  Interment will be private and held at the convenience of the family in the Strasburg Mennonite Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, contributions in Mrs. Weber’s memory may be made to the Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd, 750 Greenfield Road, Lancaster, PA  17601 or to Hospice and Community Care, 685 Good Drive, P.O. Box 4125, Lancaster, PA  17604-4125.
