Mary Jane Rill
Mary Jane Rill, 89, of Lancaster, died at home on July 12, 2013.
She was the wife of the late Elmer K. Rill who died in 2006. Her first husband Lloyd Snyder died in 1975. Born in Lancaster, she was the daughter of the late Percy “Frank” and Mary Cecelia Hill Williams.
Mary Jane retired from the Lancaster County Recorder of Deeds where she had been employed as a secretary for many years. Prior to that she had been employed by RCA. She was a member of Grace Lutheran Church in Lancaster. Mary Jane was a 1942 graduate of McCaskey High School and enjoyed bowling and traveling. She served in the U.S. Navy during World War II.
Surviving is a son, Robert J. husband of Candace Walter of Havertown; two grandchildren and 1 great grandson. She was preceded in death by six brothers and sisters.
A Memorial Service will be held on Thursday, July 25, 2013 at 7:00 P.M. at the Kearney A. Snyder Funeral Home, 141 E. Orange St., Lancaster, PA with the Rev. Nancy Weiss officiating. Friends may call at the funeral home on Thursday evening from 6:00 P.M. until the time of the service. In lieu of flowers, contributions in her memory may be made to Grace Lutheran Church, 517 N. Queen St., Lancaster, PA 17603.
