Mary K. Dano, 69, of Lancaster, was called home by her Lord and Savior on Monday, February 14, 2011 at the home of her daughter, with her family by her bedside.
She would have been married 47 years in May to her loving husband, Robert J. Dano. Born December 21, 1941 in New York, New York, she was the daughter of Mary Payda Kedulich and the late Steve Kedulich.
Mrs. Dano and her husband have been the proprietors of the Engleside Beverage Mart since 1999. Prior to that, they owned and operated the Prince of Subs from 1976 to 1998 and the Robert J. Dano Funeral Home from 1974 to 1981. Known as “Miss Mary” to her customers over the years, she will be remembered for her ever-present smile, kind heart and loving spirit.
Mrs. Dano was a member of St. Philip the Apostle Roman Catholic Church, Lancaster, and was known as a woman of deep faith with a special devotion to the Blessed Mother.
Surviving besides her husband are three daughters, Lisa, wife of Robert Dundon of Lucas, TX, Gina, of Bryn Mawr, PA and Mary Beth, wife of David T. Fritz, Jr. of Berwyn, PA; 6 grandchildren, David III, Charlotte Mary, and Liam Fritz, and Isabel, Olivia, and Luke Dundon; and a brother, Steve Kedulich of Manalapan, NJ.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Philip the Apostle Catholic Church, 2111 Millersville Pike, Lancaster on Saturday, February 19, 2011 at 11 AM with Rev. Mark E. Weiss, Celebrant and Rev. Paul Bryan, CSSR, Concelebrant. Interment St. Joseph New Catholic Cemetery, Bausman, PA. A viewing will be held at the Kearney A. Snyder Funeral Home, 141 E. Orange St., Lancaster, on Friday, February 18, 2011 from 6:30 to 8:30 PM with a Prayer Service and recitation of the Holy Rosary at 8 PM. There will also be a viewing at the funeral home on Saturday from 10 to 10:30 AM. In lieu of flowers, it was Mary’s request that Mass cards be offered in her name.
