Mary M. Calloway

Mary M. Calloway, age 76 passed away Friday, November 30, 2018 at Hamilton Arms Center. She was born in Columbia Pa on October 10, 1942 daughter of the late Rev. St. Paul Freeman and Edna Pernsley. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister and friend. She had been a volunteer for Hospice & Community Care, Missionary at Brightside Baptist Church, a Deaconess in California, and a care giver and former Sunday School Teacher. Her late father built the first Black elementary school in Port Deposit MD and Mrs. Calloway was the last living executor of the school, now under the care of the Historical Society. Friends and relatives are respectfully invited to a visitation on Tuesday, December 4, 2018 at 11 a.m. at DeBord Snyder Funeral Home & Crematory 141 E. Orange St. Lancaster PA 17602, where the funeral service will begin at 12 noon. Burial will follow the service at Conestoga Memorial Park.
