Melvin E. Miller, Jr., 65, of Lancaster, died unexpectedly on Sunday, July 24, 2016.
He was married 44 years to Jeanette L. Spidle Miller. Born in Lancaster, he was the son of the late Melvin E., Sr. and Mary Ann Keller Miller.
Melvin retired from Kirchner Brothers where he had been employed as an exterminator. He was a 1968 graduate of J. P. McCaskey High School. Over the years he had been involved with the Bausman Fire Co., Wheatland Fire Co., and the Warwick and Manheim Township Ambulance Associations.
He enjoyed trains and ice hockey and he was loved for his sense of humor.
Surviving besides his wife is a son, Melvin E. “Poke” Miller, III of Lancaster and a brother Richard S. Miller of Lancaster. He was preceded in death by a sister Barbara Ann Miller.
A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, July 30, 2016 at 1:00 P.M. at Faith United Church of Christ, 1204 Wabank Road, Lancaster, PA with the Rev. John C. Rieker officiating. Friends may call at the church on Saturday from 12:00 Noon until the time of the service.
