Miriam L. Schleenbaker, 89, formerly of Englewood, FL, passed away peacefully on Friday, June 3, 2011 at Moravian Manor in Lititz. She was married 68 years to the late alter F. ” J u p e ” Schleenbaker who died in 2009. Born in Lancaster, she was the daughter of the late Edgar L. and Miriam Stradtman Long. Miriam was a homemaker. She was a graduate of J.P. McCaskey High School andwas a member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church. Miriam was former member of the Artist’s Association and the Garden Club. She enjoyed oil painting and taking care of her beloved Shih Tzu, Muffie. Surviving is a beloved daughter, Beverly wife of Ernest W. Lindquist; an especially beloved randdaughter, Kerri wife of Eric Heckel; and a beloved grandson, Gregory husband of Paula Misenko all of Lititz; four great grandchildren, Nick, Logan and Tanner Heckel and Lukas Misenko; a sister, MaryEllen wife of Richard Bordner of Delaware; two brothers, Edgar husband of MaryEllen Long and John husband of Carol Long both ofLancaster. She was preceded in death by a brother William Long and by a sister Mildred Netting. Relatives and close friends are respectfully invited to attend the funeral service on Wednesday, June 8, 2011 at 11:00 A.M. at the Kearney A. Snyder Funeral Home, 141 E. Orange St., Lancaster, PA. Friends may call at the funeral home on Wednesday from 10:00 A.M. until the time of the service. Interment in Conestoga Memorial Park.
