Moriah Olivia Kathryn Fowler, age 19, returned to her eternal home on January 7, 2010.
She was the beloved daughter of Mark A. Fowler, of Evanston IL, and Kathy Fowler, of Willow Street, PA, and cherished sister of Ben Fowler, of Philadelphia, PA. Moriah’s life was a light to many. She was a 2008 graduate of Lampeter-Strasburg High School where she was an active participant in the National Honor Society, Marching Band, Concert Band, and school musicals. She also played her oboe with the F&M Philharmonia. She was accepted to the Doctor of Physical Therapy program at Ithaca College. An active member of First United Methodist Church in Lancaster, Moriah participated in a variety of choirs and mission trips. Moriah traveled extensively, including trips to Eastern Europe with American Music Abroad, to England, New Zealand, Mexico and the Caribbean. Moriah delighted in her unwavering support of the Boston Red Sox and was at home in Fenway Park. She cherished time with her extended family, especially the Norcrosses of Willow Street. With them she loved camping trips, playing games, making music, and just being with her best friend and cousin Molly.
Moriah had a deep and wise faith. Upon diagnosis of her Hodgkin’s Lymphoma almost two years ago she blessed us with words that she lived by, saying, “I believe in the resurrection, and no matter what I will have life.”
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend a Memorial Service to honor Moriah’s life at First United Methodist Church, corner of Duke and Walnut Sts., Lancaster, PA on SATURDAY, January 16th at 10:00 a.m. Family will greet friends from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service. Private interment will be at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Moriah’s memory may be sent to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, 800 Corporate Circle, Harrisburg, PA 17110.
