Mrs. Gloria M. Wilfong (Nee Hess)
Gloria Mae Hess Wilfong, 81 of Willow Street passed away at her home from natural causes. Born in Fredonia KY she was the daughter of Alva and Ersie (Prowell) Hess. She was proceeded in death by her husband of 41 years Ronald G. Wilfong who passed in 1995.
After working at the Schick Factory for several years she attended the Willow Street Votech to receive her licence as a Practical Nurse. She then worked at Conestoga View Nursing Home, as well as a school nurse for Penn Manor school district and finally retiring from Lancashire Hall Nursing Home. She was also worked as an EMT along with her husband for Willow Street fire company. A volunteer CPR instructor for the local Red Cross. After retirement age was a member of the Lancaster Grand Square Club, the Red Hat Society and was an avid bingo player.
Surviving are her children: son, Rory G. Wilfong of Chicago, IL and daughter Nicole W. Lutz wife of Paul M. Lutz of Willow Street, PA. Grandchildren: Morgan and Reece Wilfong of Lancaster, PA and Willow G. Lutz of Willow Street, PA. Also surviving is her cousin Wanda Beck of Fredonia, KY.
Friends and relatives are respectfully invited to a graveside service on Saturday, August 20, 2016 at 11:30 A.M. at the Mellinger Mennonite Cemetery, 1918 Lincoln Hwy E., Lancaster, PA 17602.
