Myrtle Siegler Geist, 106 years old, entered the loving arms
of her Savior at 11:35 AM on September 22nd at Homestead
Village.
Her husband was the late Allen H. Geist, and she is survived
by her children, Phyllis Geist Strittmater and Andrew L.
Geist, both of Lancaster.
She was the oldest member of her church, Emmanuel Lutheran in
Lancaster.
Myrtle was a 1925 graduate of Penn Manor, working as a
secretary, and later deputy recorder of deeds at the
Lancaster County Courthouse.
She was a church organist in several Lancaster churches
beginning as a teenager at St. Paul’s in Millersville, where
she was born.
In her retirement years, she joined Happy Hours group,
accompanying the Mellodeers singing group, and the Quack
Quacks, a comic singing group that entertained at local
nursing homes. She always had a passionate love of music and
it defined her well.
A service celebrating her life will be held at Homestead
Village. Radcliffe House, 1800 Village Circle, Lancaster, PA
on Wednesday, October 9 at 1:30 PM. Friends may greet the
family on Wednesday from, 1:00 P.M. until the time of the service.
The family wishes to thank the entire staff of Homestead
Village for their excellent loving care given to Myrtle these
last twelve years.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be sent to Emmanuel
Lutheran Church or Homestead Village.
