Nancy F. Smith, 78, of Lancaster, died Monday, December 13, 2010 at L a n c a s t e r General Hospital. She was he wife of the late Edward C. Smith, Sr. who died in 2004. Born in Lancaster, she was the daughter of the late Russell H. and Elizabeth F. Miller Labezius. Nancy had worked at Ferrell’s Maintenance for many years. She was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Lancaster, and had been active with the food bank at the church. Nancy was also active in the Ladies Home League at the Salvation Army. Nancy was happiest when she was in the company of her family, her children, grandchildren, siblings, and nieces and nephews meant the world to her. Surviving are two sons, Russell James Smith, Sr., of Reading and Edward C., Jr. husband of Robin Smith of Harker Heights, TX; six
grandchildren, five great grandchildren; two brothers, Larry J. husband of Stella Labezius, Joseph T. husband of Cindy Labezius both of Lancaster; a sister, Linda Ann Anderson of Lancaster. She was preceded in death by two sons, Jeffrey and Donald and by two brothers and two sisters. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, December 18, 2010 at 11:00 A.M. at St. John’s Lutheran Church, 223 West Orange St., Lancaster, PA with the Rev. Margaret Kassees officiating. Friends may call at the church on Saturday from 10:00 A.M. until the time of the service.
