Nancy J. Bowes
Nancy J. Bowes, 86, of Lancaster, passed away peacefully on Monday, March 4, 2013, at The Glen at Willow Valley. She was the wife of the late Ronald M. Bowes who passed away in 1994. Born in Columbia, PA she was the daughter of the late Adam H. and Sarah (Ellwein) Greer.
She graduated from Drexel University and worked at ITT Grinnel and RCA for many years as an executive secretary.
She loved flowers and flower arranging, cooking, traveling, and fashion design for which she won numerous awards. She was also a proud member of the Lancaster Garden Club
The family is greatly appreciative for the kindness and empathy that she received at The Glen.
Nancy is survived by a stepdaughter, Carlie Bowes (wife of Gilbert B. Lyons, Jr.) of Lancaster; 3 step-grandchildren; a sister-in-law, Connie Greer, and several nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her sister, Jean Kauffman of Lewisburg, PA and a brother, John Greer of New Holland, PA.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend a Memorial Service at St. James Episcopal Church; 119 N. Duke St., Lancaster, PA 17602, on Monday, April 15, 2013 at 11:00 A.M. with The Rev. Jadon Hartsuff officiating.
In lieu of flowers contributions in her memory may be made to Hospice and Community Care, 685 Good Drive, P.O. Box 4125, Lancaster, PA 17604-4125.
