Nidia “Buela” Reinoso

Nidia “Buela” Reinoso, 88 years young of Lancaster, PA went to be with her Lord and Savior on Friday, July 14, 2017 at Hospice & Community Care surrounded by her family. Born in Puerto Plata, Dominican Republic, she was the middle daughter of Raymundo Salcedo and Nieves Evans.

She came to NYC in 1969. She was married to Jose Manolo “Coco” Reinoso for a blissful 37 years who predeceased her.  She attended Centro Biblico Church where she served faithfully as a leader and was appointed the church missionary.  In her ministry there, God used her to bless many as she taught the Word, encouraged those in need, visited the sick, and shared God’s love.  She was an ardent prayer warrior and many would go to her for spiritual support, help and comfort.

In 1986 she and her family moved to Lancaster, PA.  She loved to travel regardless of her age or health: to Spain, Dominican Republic and to many local women’s retreats.  She lived for her family and friends with her contagious smile sharing the gospel along the way. Her love was unconditional and her life was a living testimony of the God she served. Everyone who knew her experienced love, even in her last days, she radiated with love and joy.

Nidia worked at Brethren Village and Lancashire Hall as a CNA. She also spent time at Wendy’s where she received the employee of month award (more than once) for managing the best salad bar until she retired to care for her grandson. Nidia enjoyed shopping on her VIP status at JC Penney’s for the finer things in life leaving her to be known as a “Diva” in her later years. She was a diehard Yankee fan, attending the parade with veterans who were touched and inspired by her. Nidia spent many good days at Moravian Center where she enjoyed making new friends, playing bingo and dominoes. She was an active member of Alpha & Omega Church of The Brethren for 31 years serving as elder and deacon.

She leaves behind a sister Idalia “Chabela” Salcedo, Dominican Republic; three daughters Amarilis Angela Adams, Orlando, FL; Chanabelle married to Billy Arriaga, Bronx, NY; Denise married to Marty Wayman, Lancaster, PA; grandchildren Michael Collins, Martanique Wayman, Leah Arriaga, Zuhri and Kai Wayman; great-grandchildren Leila, Ava and Luke; along with a host of nieces, nephews and cousins. Coco, her beloved Yorkie, will miss his long walks with her.

A Celebration of Life will be held at In the Light Ministries, 415 S Shippen St, Lancaster PA 17602 on Thursday, July 20, 2017 at 7 PM.
