Nilda Figueroa

Our amazing mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother Nilda Figueroa went to be with our Heavenly Father on March 18, 2023.

Our mother was born in Ponce, Puerto Rico, and came to the United States at 1 1/2 years old with her mother (Elena Rivera) and father (Rafael Figueroa). She loved her children Rebecca Young (Daniel Young), Eric Carrasquillo, and Sarah Carrasquillo. Her life was filled with love and joy by her four grandchildren Nikko Mazza (Chelsea Gordan-Mazza), Joe’l Rivera (Shania Rivera), Isaiah Young, Elena Young, and her great-granddaughter Finely Gordon-Mazza.

She lived to serve her family, her church, and her community. She was an advocate for Autism as well as a mentor and foster mom for countless children.  With her passion for quilting and crocheting, she made blankets, scarves, and hats for local shelters.

She will now join her father, Rafael Figueroa, her mother, Elena Rivera, her sister Priscilla Figueroa, Raquel Cerilli, and her brothers, Robert, Rubin, and Richard Figueroa.

She leaves behind, her sisters, Roseanne Huffman (Reggie Huffman) and Sonia Dudas (Scott Dudas) as well as her brothers, Raphael Figueroa (Ramona Figueroa) and Albert Figueroa (Wendy Figueroa) a host of nephews and nieces as well as a long list of family and dear friends.

Our mother was tiny in size but HUGE in passion and strength! She was the boss!  She will truly be missed!
