Omar K. Stoltzfus, 61, originally of Ronks, PA died at his home in Phoenix, Arizona on Thursday, January 5, 2017. Omar was the son of Elam L. and Mattie (Kauffman) Stoltzfus of Ronks.
Omar attended Conestoga Valley schools and later attended Vo-tech where he first gained an interest in computer programing eventually landing a position with Apple Computer.
He then moved to Phoenix, AZ to attend and graduate from DeVry University. After graduating, he worked for Stratus Technologies in Phoenix, AZ and also was a software developer for Keystone Wood Specialties, Inc., Lancaster, PA.
Omar enjoyed the Phoenix climate and hosting family and friends who went out to visit, often taking them to the Grand Canyon and Old Tucson. He also enjoyed camping and fishing.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by four siblings: A. Jane, wife of Scott Shank of Ronks; Samuel D., husband of L. Elaine of Lancaster; J. Ervin, husband of Susan of Newport; and Priscilla, wife of Paul Schwartz of Strasburg.
A Memorial Service will be private at the convenience of the family. Interment will occur at Carpenter’s Memorial Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions in his memory may be made to the Muscular Dystrophy Association at, 222 S. Riverside Plaza, Suite 1500, Chicago, IL 60606.
