Patricia E. Goscilo, 71, of Lancaster, PA, passed away on Friday, March 17, 2017 after a car accident in West Lampeter Township.
She is the loving mother of Nicole Wentz and Sabrina Chambers.
She was born in Jamaica, Queens, NY to the late Edward and Mary (Feeley) Hanahoe. She is a 1964 graduate of Mary Louis Academy and earned her R.N. from Bellevue Nursing School. Pat was employed as a visiting nurse for Nursing Sisters of Rockville Centre, NY and more recently as a claims executive for Physician Reciprocal Insurers.
Family and friends will remember her genuine love, joy, hugs and bright smiles. Pat loved life and was always ready to laugh and share a fun and crazy story of her life. Pat was thoughtful, caring and always willing to help anyone in need. She surrounded herself with those she loved, which were her children and grandchildren, her family and her adored pets, Sammy and Martin (dogs) and Figgie and Fergie (cats). She loved going to the movies or Broadway shows with her daughters. She enjoyed photography and travel and was most proud of the African safari she went on several years ago. She won numerous prizes for her photography, and loved bird-watching as well. She was an avid reader, who loved watching baseball and took great pride in attending her children and grandchildren’s school and sporting events.
Pat is survived by her daughter Nicole, wife of Dr. Jeremy Wentz of Clarks Summit, PA and Dr. Sabrina, wife of Justin Chambers of Lancaster, PA. Additionally, she is survived by her six grandchildren (the great loves of her life), Jackson, Brielle, Colton, Caleena, Jace & Jocelyn. She is also survived by Sister Maureen Hanahoe, a sister of Maryknoll Sisters of Ossining, NY, sister Joanie, wife of Tom Schalk of Massapequa, NY and sister Eileen, wife of Robert Gotkin of Massapequa, NY. She was loved by her surviving nephews, Tom and Gregory Schalk and Ryan Gotkin, all of Massapequa, NY.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend a Memorial Service at DeBord Snyder Funeral Home, 141 East Orange St., Lancaster, PA on Wednesday, March 22nd at 2:00 P.M. Friends may greet the family at the funeral home on Wednesday from 1:00 P.M. until the time of the service.
