Patricia Stokes Gagnon, 70, of Smithfield, VA, passed away Monday, June 14, 2010. A native of Philadelphia, PA, she was the daughter of the late George W. and Bernice Cuddy Smith. Patricia had been a Smithfield resident for the past 6 years.
A beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, Patricia enjoyed bingo, cooking classes and church activities. She was a member of Benn’s United Methodist Church.
In addition to her parents, Patricia is preceded in death by her husbands, John Stokes and John Gagnon, and a grandson, Michael A. Sager. She leaves to cherish her memories her daughter, Dawn S. Sager, and husband, John, of Parksley, VA; her son, John R. “Jack” Stokes, and wife, Mary, of Smithfield; five grandchildren, Elizabeth and Matthew Sager, April Blythe, and husband, Brandon, Krystal and Brittany Stokes; 2 great-grandchildren, Colin and Kaley Blythe.
Family and friends will gather 6:30-8:00 PM, Wednesday, June 16, for visitation at Colonial Funeral Home. A service celebrating Patricia’s life will be held 2:00 PM, Thursday in the funeral home, with Rev. O.H. Burton officiating. Pat will be taken to Richard A. Sheetz Funeral Home, Lancaster, PA for a graveside service to be held 11:00 a.m., Saturday, June 19, at Old Leacock Presbyterian Church Cemetery, Route 340, Intercourse.
