Patricia J. Wolf

Patricia J. Wolf, 76, of Lancaster, went home to be with her Lord on February 27, 2016 following a life filled with love and service.

Born in Lancaster, PA on March 22, 1939, she was the daughter of the late Raymond Allen and Feryn Freeman Jones.  She graduated from J.P. McCaskey in 1958, and on June 22, 1958 married Tom L. Wolf, her husband of 57 years.  Their daughter, Lisa Wolf Werner, wife of Jeffrey K. Werner, of Ephrata also survives her.

She is also survived by two sisters, Nancy Louise, wife of E. Thomas Berlet of Lancaster, and Barbara R. Buford, of Lewes, DE as well as cousins, nieces and nephews.

Pat was a member of the Lancaster Church of the Brethren and served the church in various ways.

She enjoyed being a Girl Scout, earning various badges and became a troop leader.  She felt a need to help other Girl Scouts, and to that extent worked with her mother at the Penn Laurel Girl Scout Council Day Camp in Quarryville for many years.

For many years she also helped to formulate a scouting program for girls in the Lancaster Innercity area and was dedicated to helping girls have a Girl Scout learning experience with the hope of improving their lives.

Pat loved her family and was a dedicated homemaker and an excellent cook. She loved music, gardening, drawing, genealogy, fishing, reading and visiting her family and friends.  She loved her home, which was always a warm and inviting place.  She was especially fond of all of her pet dogs which were in her life.  They gave her enjoyment, love and devotion which were so precious to her.  She loved and enjoyed animals, and had a special place in her heart for all of the homeless animals in Lancaster County

She loved to laugh and had a wonderful sense of humor.  Her encouragement and love shone through in all she did.  She loved everyone in her family and continuously showed her love and devotion to each of them in their own special way.

All who knew her will sadly miss Pat.

“She is clothed with strength and dignity; she can laugh at the days to come.  She speaks with wisdom, and faithful instruction is on her tongue.  She watches over the affairs of her household and does not eat the bread of idleness.  Her children arise and call her blessed, her husband also, and he praises her; Many women do noble things, but you surpass them all.” Proverbs 31:25-29

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend a Memorial Service on Friday, March 4, 2016 at 1:00 P.M. at the DeBord Snyder Funeral Home & Crematory, 141 E. Orange St., Lancaster, PA 17602 with the Reverend J. Calvin Wenger officiating.  A visitation will be held at the funeral home on Friday from 12:00 PM. until the time of the service. Interment will be private at the convenience of the family.
