Patti (Moore) Henry, 66, of Lancaster, PA, passed peacefully into eternity at home on March 28, 2024. She was surrounded by Robert (Bob) Henry, her loving husband of nineteen years, and loved ones.
Born October 9, 1957, to Ward and DeVona (Christiansen) Moore in Castro Valley, CA, Patti was the sixth of seven children. After moving to Idaho with her family in September of 1969, Patti graduated from Westside High School in Dayton, ID with fond memories of competing on the school’s drill team. Patti went on to attend Ricks College in Rexburg, ID before eventually moving to Pennsylvania with her former husband Scott Hammel and their two sons Geoffrey and Michael. While faithfully raising her sons, Patti also ran and operated her own day care business for approximately fifteen years, caring affectionately for each of the children and their families that entered her home. Upon ending her day care services, Patti began a career in banking, eventually working her way up to several managerial positions while raising her two stepchildren Becky and Bobby Henry.
Patti was a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and married Bob on September 2, 2005, in the Washington, DC Temple. She served in many church roles in the Primary, Seminary, Relief Society, and Young Women's organizations for her church. One of her most rewarding church roles was serving as an ordinance worker in the Philadelphia, PA and Logan, UT temples. Patti’s hobbies and interests included crafting and sewing, making gifts for others, completing home improvement and decorating projects, and keeping a tidy and organized home. She also enjoyed satisfying her sweet tooth with one of her favorite treats - ice cream! But more than anything, spending time with her family brought Patti great joy. With her gentle and quiet spirit, Patti made those around her feel loved through her selfless acts of kindness and compassion.
Patti is survived by her sweetheart Bob, sons Geoff (Chandi) Hammel and Mike (Annie) Hammel, and stepchildren Matthew Henry, Aileen Henry, Becky (Chris) Peters, and Bobby (Tory) Henry. She was affectionately known as Grandma Patti to her nine grandchildren who will miss her dearly. In addition, she is survived by her cherished siblings: Douglas (Linda) Moore of Triadelphia, WV; Jolene Moore of West Jordan, UT; Roy Moore of North Ogden, UT; Marcia (Benny) Kendall of Oxford, ID; and MacKay (Diane) Moore of Millville, UT. Patti was preceded in death by her parents Ward and DeVona Moore, brother Ray Dean Moore, and sister-in-law Cheryle Moore.
Funeral services will be held at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (1136 Sunwood Lane, Lancaster, PA) on Saturday, April 6, 2024, at 10:00am; a viewing will be held prior to the funeral from 9:00am to 9:45am. A private interment will be held at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery. The family would like to express their heartfelt appreciation to the Ann B. Barshinger Cancer Institute, Hospice and Community Care, and Hellen Kiragu, all who lovingly assisted with Patti’s care.
