Paul L. Myers, 82, of Lancaster, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Sunday, March 18, 2012 while at Hospice of Lancaster County.
He was married 56 years to Polly Ann Hoover Myers. Born in Talmage, he was the son of the late Linton and Katie Stauffer Myers.
Paul was a retired truck driver logging over five million miles in his lifetime. He retired from Mawson and Mawson in 2010 after 57 years as a self-employed owner/operator. He was a member of the Redeemer Lutheran Church in Lancaster, and the VFW Post 7294 in Millersville. Paul served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. He enjoyed anything having to do with trucks and John Deere Tractors. However the greatest times in his life were the times he spent with his wife, children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. He cherished all the special family gatherings and his presence will be greatly missed.
Surviving besides his wife are two daughters, Kathy L. wife of Harry D. Houghton of Lititz, and Lori A. wife of Charles Christenson of Doylestown; three sons, Jeffrey P. Myers of Lancaster, Steven C. husband of Jane Myers of Lititz, and Scott D. husband of Michelle Myers of Harrisburg. Also surviving are seven grandchildren, three great grandchildren; a sister Alma Brackbill of Lancaster, and two brothers, Earl husband of Irene Myers and Lloyd husband of Shirley Myers both of Denver. He was preceded in death by three brothers and three sisters.
A Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, March 22, 2012 at 11:00 at Redeemer Lutheran Church, 500 Pearl St., Lancaster, PA with the Rev. David D. Kreider officiating. Friends may call at the Kearney A. Snyder Funeral Home, 141 E. Orange St., Lancaster, PA on Wednesday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. and at the church on Thursday from 10:00 A.M. until the time of the service. Interment with Military Honors in Mellinger Mennonite Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Mr. Myers’ memory may be made to Hospice of Lancaster County, 685 Good Drive, P.O.
