Paul R. Gring

Paul R. Gring, 91, of Lancaster, passed away on Tuesday, October 27, 2015 at Lancaster General Hospital.  He was the loving husband of Elfriede Koerber as well as to his first wife, the late Edna Mae (Culp) Gring.

Born in Reading, PA, he was the son of the late Harvey and Esther (Luppold) Gring.

He proudly served in the U.S. Marine Corp as a Sergeant during WWII.

Paul was a 1942 graduate of Reading High School and attended the Wharton School of Business.  He spent much of his career as a buyer with the Hamilton Watch Company in Lancaster.

He was a member of Grace Baptist Church where he was involved in Sunday School and the Evergreens ministry. He was previously an active member and a former deacon with the First Presbyterian Church in Lancaster.

In his spare time he enjoyed going to the beach, antique collecting and auctions, and taking walks.

In addition to his wife Elfriede, he is survived by two sons, Stephen Gring (husband of Mary Anne) of Ocean City, NJ and Phillip Gring (husband of Janice) of Mechanicsburg, PA; a sister Ruth Garhammer of Reading, PA, and a stepson Frank Koerber (husband of Laurie) of Lancaster, PA. He is also survived by three grandchildren, Kelly Gring Meeks and Zachary Gring, both of Richmond, VA., and Jeffrey Gring of Baltimore, MD., and step grandchildren Jacob and Matthew Koerber of Lancaster, PA.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend a Memorial Service at Grace Baptist Church, 1899 Marietta Ave., Lancaster, PA 17603, on Monday, November 2, 2015 at 11:00 AM with the Rev. Marvin Reich officiating.  Friends may greet the family from 10:00 AM until the time of the service. Internment will be in Conestoga Memorial Park.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in his memory to Grace Baptist Church at the address shown above.
