Paul T. Eby

Paul T. Eby, 87, formerly of Lancaster, passed away Saturday, Oct. 30, 2010 at Susquehanna Valley Nursing and Rehab Center. Born in Lancaster, he was the son of the late Maurice H. and Clara M. Trexler Eby.

Paul was a pharmacist and co-owner of the former Maurice H. Eby Pharmacy, now Smithgall’s Pharmacy, Columbia Ave., Lancaster. During WWII, he served in the U. S. Army. He was stationed in Guam as a radar mechanic working on B29s. After the war, he returned to the Philadelphia College of Pharmacy and Science and graduated in 1948. He was a member of Redeemer Lutheran Church, Lancaster, and also the Lancaster County Pharmaceuticals Association and the Lancaster Sertoma Club.

The last of his immediate family, he was preceded in death by his sister, Marguerite T. Eby.

Funeral services will be held from the Kearney A. Snyder Funeral Home, 141 E. Orange St., Lancaster, PA on Thursday, November 4, at 10 AM with interment following in Bellevue Presbyterian Cemetery, Gap. Friends may call at the funeral home from 9:30 to 10:00 AM on Thursday. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be sent Redeemer Lutheran Church, 500 Pearl St. Lancaster, PA 17603 or to the charity of one’s choice.
