Pearl R. Graybeal, 104, passed into the arms of her Savior, on Wednesday August 15, 2018 at Brethren Village Retirement Center, Lititz, PA.
Born November 15, 1913, she was the daughter of Arthur Garfield Graybeal and Maggie Mercer Graybeal.
Born in Creston, North Carolina, she was a resident of Lancaster County since 1932.
She was a charter member of Hempfield United Methodist Church. For several years, she was employed as a seamstress at Logan’s Department Store and The Hager Store in Lancaster, PA.
She enjoyed reading, crocheting, sewing and visiting with her many family members. She continued crocheting well after her 100th birthday, making lap blankets for the Ronald McDonald House. She offered a piece for a Hospice Auction and was amazed and very pleased that it brought $124.00.
After that, she taught herself to crochet hats. A lady of strong will, a soft heart and much wisdom, she was loved by all and will be sorely missed.
She is survived by a son, Thomas (Carol Graybeal) of Carroll Plantation, Maine; her daughter, Carol Wilson (James Wilson) of Lancaster, PA; a daughter-in-law, Nancy Graybeal of Lancaster, PA, 11 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and 8 great-great grandchildren as well as a sister, Kate of South Carolina.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her sisters, Lucille Foster, Edna Millam and Ina Mae Oates, her brothers, Eugene Graybeal and William Graybeal, her husband Carl Graybeal, daughter M. Louise Huber, son, Harold N. Graybeal and son-in-law, R. Jere Huber.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Funeral Service in the Chapel of Brethren Village, 3001 Lititz Pike, Lancaster, PA, 17601 on Monday, August 20th, 2018 at 11:00 AM. The family will greet friends from 10:00 AM. until the time of service. Interment will follow in Silver Spring Cemetery. Please omit flowers and donate to the charity of your choice.
