Percy “Bud” Colahan Clarke, Jr., 83, of 1800 Village Circle, passed away on Saturday, March 28th, at Homestead Village.

Born in Philadelphia, on January 11, 1926, he was the son of the late Percy Colahan and Kathryn Churchill Rogers. In 1931 he moved to Wayne, PA (Radnor Township) and graduated from Radnor High School in 1944. He served in the United States Navy until 1946 and graduated from Drexel Institute of Technology in 1950.

He was married to Alice Wiseman Clarke, and they would have celebrated their 55th wedding anniversary in September.

Percy was employed by Sun Oil Company in Philadelphia until 1954 when he left to work for Connecticut General Life Insurance Company until 1959. He moved to Lancaster and joined Farmers Bank & Trust Company in 1959 to pursue a career in banking where he worked as Vice President and Trust Officer. He retired from banking, then Core States Bank, to pursue a position as Director of Lancaster County Foundation.

He was a member of Highland Presbyterian Church where he served on the Session and was a Member of the Board of Trustees. He was also a member of The Hamilton Club of Lancaster where he enjoyed many social gatherings as well as his love of bowling with friends.

He volunteered for the following organizations: Radnor Township Fire Co., Friends of Lancaster County Library, Board Member of Lancaster County Library, Lancaster County Day Care Center, Estate Planning Council Member-President, Board Member of Visiting Nurse Association, Board Member and President of Lancaster Guidance Center, Kiwanis Club of Lancaster, Board Member and President of Harb-Adult, Inc., SCORE Board Member and Lancaster Cemetery Board Member.

Besides his wife, he is survived by two daughters, Mary Alice, wife of E. Richard Arment and Laura Susanne, wife of Stephen T. Kirchner, both of Lancaster; a son, Stephen Colahan Clarke of Reading; and one grandson, Andrew S. Kirchner. He was preceded in death by a brother, John Rogers Clarke.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend a funeral service at Highland Presbyterian Church, 1801 Oregon Pike, Lancaster, PA on Thursday, April 2, at 2:00 p.m. The family will receive friends at the church on Thursday from 1:00 p.m. until the time of service. Private interment will be at the convenience of the family.
