Pete True, 87, of Lancaster, passed away on June 1, 2024.  He was the loving husband of Katie True. Born in South Amboy, NJ, he was the son of the late Frederick and Katherine (McClenahan) True.

After graduating from high school, he proudly served in the US Army as Military Police.  When his service ended, he eventually relocated to Pennsylvania and then spent much of his career as a builder, and subsequently started his own Design/Build firm.

A dedicated and loving family man, Pete was always supportive of his wife and children. He was instrumental in helping them all be the best that they could be and would do whatever he could to ensure their success in life. His love of dogs was legendary, and many treats will now be needed in his neighborhood to make up for his absence.

Pete’s love of our country was a core belief and guided him to strengthen the community. He and Katie were among the founding members of St. Edwards Episcopal Church in Lancaster. He also served as a Scout leader and was active in local politics.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by children Kevin (husband of Anne), Eric (husband of Ruthann), Sean (husband of Lori), Peter (husband of Kendra), Christian (husband of Jen), and Colin (husband of Carli). Also surviving are 12 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.  Per his wishes, a private celebration of life will be held at the convenience of the family.   In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Pennsylvania SPCA Lancaster Center, 848 S Prince St, Lancaster, PA 17603. https://www.pspca.org/lancaster
