Peter D. Williams, 52, of East Petersburg, passed away Friday, March 19, 2010 at Lancaster General Hospital after a brief illness. Born in Lancaster, he was the son of Sarah Zerphy Williams of East Petersburg, and the late Jacob H. Williams.
Peter was a 1980 graduate of Millersville State College. He worked as a packaging buyer for Hershey Foods. He was a former member of the East Petersburg Boro Council, and director of the Jake Williams Memorial Golf Tournament which benefits the American Heart Association. Peter was an avid Philadelphia sports fan, and Civil War enthusiast.
Surviving in addition to his mother are: 1 son, Ian Williams and his mother, Candy Williams, of Lancaster; his companion, Belinda Behrens of Hummelstown; 2 brothers, David husband of Milu Williams of Lancaster, John Williams, fiancé of Carrie Bancroft of Hamlin, PA.
A Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, March 25, 2010 at 12:00 Noon at the Westgate Baptist Church, 2235 Old Harrisburg Pike, Lancaster, PA with Pastor Roy Johnsen officiating. Friends may call at the church on Thursday from 10:00 A.M. until the time of the service. Interment in Zion Lutheran Cemetery, East Petersburg. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be sent to the Cancer Treatment Centers of America, 1331 E. Wyoming Ave., Philadelphia, PA 19124.
