Phyllis E. Esbenshade
Phyllis Ethel Esbenshade (nee Roberts) of Ephrata, PA passed away on July 3, 2016 at Ephrata Manor. She was the loving wife of J. Fred Esbenshade with whom she celebrated 72 years of marriage.
She was born in Lebanon, PA on March 13, 1920 to Herbert Light and Ethel Mutch Roberts.
A member of Grace United Church of Christ, Eden, Phyllis was a long time member of the choir.
Her love of décor was evident in her employment at Joyce Gibbel Gifts where she worked for many years.
Phyllis is survived by her husband Fred and her children John F. Jr husband of Donna, Lancaster; Phillip R husband of Trudy, New Holland and Carol Ann Groff wife of James, York. She is also survived by nine grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, Phyllis was predeceased by her brothers Donald L. and Herbert James Roberts.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend a Memorial Service and Celebration of her life in the Chapel at Ephrata Manor 99 Bethany Road, Ephrata, PA on July 31 at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Katie Cort officiating. Friends may greet the family an hour prior to the service.
Interment in the Landis Valley Mennonite Cemetery will be private, at the discretion of the family.
