Raymond R. Snyder, 82, of Lancaster, PA passed away on Friday, January 23 at Mennonite Home. Born in Lancaster, he was the son of the late Harrison and Verna Reese Snyder. He was the loving husband of Mary Bechtold Snyder to whom he had been married 62 years.
He was a graduate of J.P. McCaskey High School.
Mr. Snyder served in the United States Army during the Korean War, and proudly played drums in the Army Band.
He was a long time member of Redeemer Lutheran Church.
He enjoyed spending time with his children and was very proud that he taught some of his grandchildren to drive.
In addition to his wife he is survived by his children, Ronald, husband of Cindy Snyder of New Providence, PA, Terry, wife of Roy Garland, II of Mount Wolf, PA, Randy, husband of Robin Snyder of Lancaster, PA, and Bonnie Wyble Overly of Willow Street , PA; 8 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; a sister, Pat Coffroad of Lancaster, PA., and his sister-in-law Mildred Bechtold of Maryland.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend a Memorial Service in Redeemer Lutheran Church, 500 Pearl St., Lancaster, PA on Thursday, January 29, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. with the Rev. David D. Kreider officiating. The family will greet friends immediately following the memorial service. Interment will be private at the convenience of the family.
