Richard A. Beittel, Jr.

Richard (Rick) A. Beittel, Jr., 62, of Lancaster, PA passed away unexpectedly at his home on April 26, 2016.  He was the loving husband of Julia (Julie) Martin Beittel to whom he had been married over 35 years.

Rick is survived by his son Andrew (Andy) A., husband of Amanda Beittel of Oreland and two sisters, Barbara A. Shire of Manheim, and Betsy A. Carlee of Quarryville.

Born in Lancaster, he was the son of the late Richard A., Sr. and Pauline Hoeltzel Beittel.  He was a graduate of Manheim Township High School and Northeastern University where he received his Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting. He was a Certified Public Accountant and began his career as a partner at Hatter, Harris, and Beittel. He continued his career at MTS Travel and for the past twenty years was employed at Phillips Office Solutions as CFO and President of Phillips Capital.

A long-time and active member of First United Methodist Church, Rick was a member of the Finance Committee. He previously served as chair of the Administrative Board and was a Stephen Minister.

Rick loved spending many weekends at the Chesapeake Bay with friends and family.  He enjoyed kayaking, hiking, and traveling.  He was an accomplished artist, making numerous pottery pieces, and took great pleasure sharing his creations as gifts to many recipients.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend a Memorial Service at First United Methodist Church, corner of Duke and Walnut Streets, Lancaster, PA on Saturday, May 7, 2016 at 10:00 a.m.  The family will greet friends immediately following the Memorial Service.

Interment will be private.
