Richard L. Hill

Richard L. Hill, 78, of Lancaster, passed away Friday, September 2, 2011 at Hospice of Lancaster County, Mount Joy. Born in Lancaster, he was the son of the late Elvin and Dorothy McEvoy Hill. He was the husband of Linda Rosser Hill.

Richard served in the U. S. Army during the Korean War, and was a member of the Lancaster AmVets Post #19, American Legion Post #34, and VFW Post #1690. He worked in commercial refrigeration and retired from Turkey Hill Dairy. He was an avid golfer, softball player and enjoyed playing street hockey with the Rink Rats.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by: sons, Gary and Jere husband of Tammy Hill both of Lancaster, daughter, Jamie Hill of Ephrata; son, William Johns of Schuylkill Valley; 6 grandchildren, Darren and Austin Hill, Marshall Barrow, Xavier Hill, Jessica and Daniel Johns; brothers, Robert husband of Janet Hill and Daniel husband of Susan Hill; and sister, Deborah wife of Harry Randle.

A graveside service will be held at Laurel Hill Memorial Garden 845 Laurel Hill Road Columbia, PA on Tuesday, September 6th at 11:00 AM. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be sent to Hospice of Lancaster County P.O. Box 4125 Lancaster, PA 17604-4125.
