Richard P. Drennen, 94, of Lancaster, passed away at home after a brief illness on October 28, 2010. Born in Southern Lancasterv County, he was the son of the late Milton H. and Bertha Trimble Drennen. He was preceded in death by his wife Mary Cameron Drennen in 2009. Richard worked for over 40 years at Armstrong World Industries as a leader in the Tile Department, and as a young man worked for the Civil Conservation Corps (CCC). Being an avid fisherman and hunter, he enjoyed fishing at Muddy Run Park and hunting at his cabin in Sullivan County. He loved baseball, especially the L.A. Dodgers. He and his wife travelled extensively and had vacationed in every state of the United States. He was an active member of the Strasburg Sportsman Club and the 8th Ward Club. He will be lovingly missed by his sons, Richard P. Drennen, Jr., husband of Charlotte of Lancaster; Thomas A. Drennen, husband of Patricia of Manheim; four grandchildren, Richard P. Drennen III, husband of Sylvia; Jessica D Jackson, wife of James E., Jr.; Heather Bowser, and Carrie Emich; five great-grandchildren, Sarah and Jared Drennen, Courtney and Sean Jackson and Hall Emich. He was preceded in death by five brothers; Jesse L., Herman L., Harry M., Gerald E., and Walter K. Drennen, and six sisters, Mabel Kauffman, Clara Laube, Harriet Wennerling, Marguerite Shaber, Eleaner Drennen and Bertha Baird. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend a funeral service from the Kearney A. Snyder Funeral Home, 141 E. Orange St., Lancaster, PA on Monday, November 1st at 10:30 a.m. Friends may call at the funeral home on Monday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service. Interment in Conestoga Memorial Park.
