Robert C. Aucott, age 77, of Calvary Fellowship Homes, beloved husband of the late Phyllis Aucott, went home to be with His Lord and Savior on January 18, 2009. He was the only son of the late Clarence and Beatrice Rumer-Aucott. Bob was a 1948 graduate of Olney High School in Philadelphia. He served 1 year in the Air National Guard and 2 years in the 1st Calvary Army. He was stationed in Japan during the Korean War. Bob was employed with the Bell Telephone Company for 36 years and retired as an Assistant Vice President of Communications for Merrill Lynch in Somerset, New Jersey. His passions included his family, engineering, and golf. Bob is survived by his son, Stephen, married to Cheryl, and their daughters, Christine and Rebecca; his daughter, Diane Aucott-Ward and her husband, Robert Ward; his mother-in-law, Mary Goodwin; and brother-in-law, Robert Goodwin; his honorary daughter, Lorna-Noel Robertson and her husband, John, and their children, Tyler, Mercedes, and Brittany.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, January 23, at 7 PM at the McCrery Memorial Funeral Home, 3924 Concord Pike, Wilmington, Delaware 19803, where friends may call after 6 PM.
A graveside service will be Saturday, January 24, at 11 a.m. at Valley Forge Memorial Gardens, 132 Gulph Rd., King of Prussia, PA. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to Calvary Fellowship Homes Benevolent Fund, 806 Elizabeth Dr., Lancaster, PA 17601.
